About Us........

The Wimbledon Village Club at the junction of Lingfield Road and the Ridgway was established in 1858 and now has a membership in excess of 800. We are the oldest social club in England occupying the original building since the club was founded and know of no other legitimate contenders. The Wimbledon Village Club is one part of the Wimbledon Village Hall Trust which includes the Wimbledon Society and Museum, the Lecture Hall and the Lingfield Room. The Club is a place for the whole community and we have no political or religious affiliations, although we have strong links with other community groups, for example, The Royal British Legion, The Wimbledon Light Opera Society and The Wimbledon Society and Museum.

The founders had in mind a place where ‘locals’ could meet, chat and enjoy companionship. We provide a relaxing atmosphere in which you can enjoy an extensive range of social events, competitions and a well-stocked bar.

We serve an excellent selection of real ales and we pride ourselves on having one of the best cellars in the village, together with wine and spirits at competitive prices, as well as tea and coffee.

Wimbledon Village has many choices when deciding on a social venue, but you are unlikely to find such a friendly environment as ours.

Membership fees are currently £25 per year (or Life Membership of £275), with a one-off joining fee of £40.  Those interested in Membership should contact the Secretary or Manager for further details. However, if you are passing, why not pop in and introduce yourself?  You are assured a friendly welcome.

The Club welcomes you back

Club operations have returned to something close to 'normal' now that many of the legal restrictions the Government imposed through the pandemic have been lifted.

Cautious guidance will remain and we recognise we must collectively ensure the Club provides a safe environment for all.

The NHS Track & Trace system remains in place for the foreseeable future and so Members will be asked for their details and those of their guests on arrival at the Club. We will continue with our enhanced cleaning regime and would remind you to regularly wash your hands and use the hand sanitiser provided throughout the Club.

Of course, if you have any COVID symptoms or have been exposed to another person displaying symptoms, please do not come to the Club.

The wearing of masks in any area of the Club will be optional for both Members, guests and staff. We would remind Members that Government advice still encourages the wearing of masks indoors with close proximity to other people and ask for consideration for others using the Club.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you again
